My recent work is rooted in dualities, reflecting on the painful middle ground between freedom and safety. Rash swaths of pure hues crash into rigid barriers. Bold acts of free expression contend with tight restraints. Each layer marks a decisive change in color and texture, capturing cycles of creation and destruction, commitment and change. At times, my palette is joyous and playful, relishing in optimism and independence. Other times, I draw from a well of sorrow, digging into buried memories, regrets, fears; pouring out emotions in landslides of color.
